Medical Student Loan Program

If you’re a medical student who is interested in practicing in West Virginia in an eligible specialty are, this program might be the perfect fit for you!

About the Program

The Medical Student Loan Program is a student loan program that provides loans to medical students who will practice in rural and underserved areas of the state in approved specialty areas. Loans are up to $10,000 per year for up to four years (up to $40,000 total) and are forgivable after working at qualifying worksites and within qualifying specialty areas. If a recipient decides not to complete or is unable to complete the service obligation, the loan must be paid back.
