Doddridge Co. High School –FAFSA Workshop

January 24, 2025
Free

Who needs to file the FAFSA?

Any student considering attending training after high school, including trade school, community college, or university, must complete the FAFSA to apply for scholarships, grants, and other financial aid such as work-study funds and loans. Completing and submitting the FAFSA is free and easier than ever. It also gives you access to the largest source of aid to help pay for college or career school.

In addition, many states and colleges use your FAFSA information to determine eligibility for state and school scholarships and grants. Some private aid providers may use the information to decide whether or not you qualify for their scholarships.

Whether you’re a student, parent, or borrower, you must create your own account (FSA ID)at studentaid.gov to apply for, receive, and manage your federal student aid. Due to recent changes, the student and all parent(s) must create an account at StudentAid.gov at least three days before filling out the FAFSA. The student and all parent(s) must create a Studentaid.gov account (FSA ID) three to five days before filling out the FAFSA. Please watch the video below to learn about creating this account.

FAFSA Workshop

During this in-person workshop, if the student and their parent have set up their studentaid.gov account, one or more financial aid experts will be available to assist parents and students in completing the 2025-2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

This event is free.
