This event is in person and is free to attend.

At this event, you’ll learn:

• How to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and why it’s essential for unlocking grants, scholarships, work-study, and low-interest student loans
• The different types of financial aid available, including federal, state, and institutional aid
• Key deadlines and how to stay on track throughout the application process
• How to avoid common mistakes that can delay or reduce your financial aid
• What documents and information you’ll need to apply
• Tips on understanding financial aid offers and comparing college costs

Whether you’re just getting started or have questions about your next steps, this session is packed with useful advice and hands-on guidance.

Parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to attend—this is vital information that will help your family make smart, informed decisions about paying for college or any post secondary training.

What to Bring to Complete the 2026–2027 FAFSA

Students must have:

• Their own Social Security Number or

• Alien Registration Number (if not a U.S. citizen)

• A personal email address

You may need the following documents and information. Gather them if you can, but do not let lack of access to these documents keep you from attending the workshop:

• Your 2023 federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other records of money earned.

• Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)

• Records of child support received in 2024 (January through December)

• A StudentAid.gov (FSA ID) if you have created one previously

If the student is a dependent student, They will also need a valid email address for their contributor (parent(s).
