A message from the campus:

To be considered for admission to the university, please complete the following:

  • Complete the International Application for Admission and send it to: Admissions Office, Concord University, PO Box 1000, Athens, WV 24712-1000, USA. You may apply online using the "Begin Application" button at the bottom of this page.
  • Attach an essay in English, preferably typewritten, that includes information on your background, education, interests, reasons for applying to Concord University, and goals after college.
  • Have a school official send a certified set of official transcripts from your high school to Concord University. You must also submit official transcripts from any colleges, universities or professional schools you may have attended. No faxed or scanned copies accepted.
  • Ask a teacher or faculty member from a school you attended to complete the “Recommendation Form” on page 6 of the International Application for Admission.
  • If your first language is not English, take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and request official results be sent to Concord University. The minimum score to qualify for admission is 500. 
  • The official results of the following examinations must be sent to Concord University: SAT I (Scholastic Assessment Test) or ACT Assessment. In order to be considered for a scholarship these scores must meet scholarship requirements with a completed scholarship application and must be submitted by April 15 of the year in which you plan to enroll.
  • Complete the Affidavit of Financial Support on page 8 of the International Application for Admission and return it with your application for admission. The minimum amount listed must be US$21,000  to cover all educational costs for each year of study at Concord University, even if you are applying for scholarships. This statement must be official and notarized.  Please have a current Affidavit of Support on file no older than six months. No faxed or scanned copies.
  • Provide an official current bank statement: a monthly cycle showing deposits, withdrawals, and current balance.  The bank statement must be in the sponsors name and no older than six months.  No faxed or scanned copies.
  • Please provide an employer's statement; verification of the financial sponsor's place and position of employment.  This statement must be on company letterhead even if the sponsor is self-employed.
  • Please provide a copy of your passport page.
  • Have a current e-mail address and please write legibly.  This will be an excellent method of communication with Concord University.
  • International students, only once admitted to the University, must submit a Room Reservation Form. This form will be mailed to you if you are selected for admission. Housing deposits of US$50.00 must be submitted only with this the Room Reservation Form.

Application Instructions

After reading the instructions, please fill out this online application as thoroughly as possible. When you are finished, click the 'SUBMIT' button on the left column of any application screen. Print the application agreement statement that appears after you submit the application. Please make sure you sign and return it as soon as possible to the address below.

To be considered for admission, you must complete the following steps:
    • Complete an online application for admission.

    • Have a school official send a certified set of official transcripts from your high school to Concord University.
    • Ask a teacher or faculty member from a school you attended to complete the Download PDF Recommendation form.
    • If your first language is not English, take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and request that the results be sent to Concord University. The minimum score to qualify for admission is 500*.

    • Complete the Download PDF Affidavit of Financial Support and submit it with your application agreement statement. The minimum amount listed must be sufficient to cover all educational costs for each year of study at Concord University, even if you are applying for scholarships.
    • International students who are admitted to Concord must submit a Room Reservation form. This form will be mailed to you if you are selected for admission. Housing deposits of $50 must be submitted with this document.
     
English Language Training Program

*Students who have completed the process of applying for admission to Concord University, but who have achieved less than 500 on the TOEFL, will automatically be considered to Concord's intensive English Language Training Program. A minimum score of 350 is required for entry into this program. Those students scoring between 450-500 on the TOEFL may enroll in Concord's English Language Training Program and take one class at Concord University. When a score of 500 is achieved, students are eligible for admission for the following semester to our regular college program. Students admitted to the English Language Training Program are issued an I-20 for one year only. Once admitted to the regular college program, Concord will reissue an updated I-20 at the student's request.

How to Use the Concord University International Online Application

To complete the online application, simply type your answers in the corresponding fields or select your answers from the popup lists (where applicable).

After you complete a screen, click the NEXT button at the bottom or on one of the sections listed on the left column to move to a different screen. Before you are allowed to jump screens, we will inspect your data on the current screen for errors or inconsistencies. If errors or omissions are found, you will be returned to the screen to correct your answer(s). Otherwise, your data will be saved and you will proceed to the requested screen. We also allow you to skip to another screen without your new data being saved. Be aware that if you use the Skip & Jump function on the left column, data on the current screen will not be saved and will have to be re-entered prior to submittal.

Once you have completed the application, click the 'SUBMIT' button located on the left column to submit the application.
