Pierpont Community & Technical College

FSU - Fairmont State University Bachelor Degree Program (BDP) and some Associate Degree Programs (ADP)

PC&TC Pierpont Community & Technical College Associate Degree, Certificate Program and Skill Sets.

(Note:  Fairmont State may admit conditionally some students who do not meet the basic admission standards.  If your academic records and/or degree objectives do not match your choice above, the Office of Admissions will place you in the most appropriate level. All FSU and Pierpont C&TC programs are offered on the main Fairmont campus with the exception of Aviation (Bridgeport), Physical Therapist Assistant (Clarksburg), Radiologic Technology (Morgantown and Clarksburg), Paralegal (Clarksburg and Lewis County) and Wood Production Technology (Elkins).

 *Competitive/limited enrollment programs. These programs have earlier deadlines.

***2+2 programs:  Application must complete the associate degree component before applying for the bachelors degree. See catalog for details

Occupational Development programs are work based apprenticeship programs; admission is by approval only through Pierpont Community & Techncial College.

Admission to Technical Studies programs are by approval only through Pierpont Community & Technical College.

Fairmont State University

First-Time Freshmen
  1. Application for Admission
  2. Official high school transcript or GED (sent by high school or Department of Education)
  3. ACT or SAT scores
  4. At least a 2.0 high school GPA and an 18 ACT composite or 870 SAT composite (SAT combined Critical Reading and Math scores)
    - or-
    At least a 3.0 high school GPA and SAT or ACT composite regardless of score
    (Fairmont State may conditionally admit students who do not meet the basic admissions standards.)
  5. College transcript if college credit was earned during high school
  6. Immunization record - Measles, Mumps & Rubella (MMR) (if born after January 1, 1957)

Transfers

  2. College transcript (from accredited institution(s); must have 2.0)
  3. Official high school transcript and ACT/SAT scores if there are fewer than 24 earned credit hours being transferred
  4. Immunization record - Measles, Mumps & Rubella (MMR) (if born after January 1, 1957)

Pierpont Community & Technical College

First-Time Freshmen
  1. Application for Admission
  2. Official high school transcript or GED (sent by high school or Department of Education) or ACT or SAT scores or COMPASS
  3. College transcript (if college credit was earned during high school)
  4. Immunization record - Measles, Mumps & Rubella (MMR) (if born after January 1, 1957)

Transfers

Admission to FSU or PC&TC

Post-baccalaureate Student (seeking another degree)

Nondegree Seeking (applicants with less than 15 hours and not seeking a degree)

High School Student (current high school student) must meet the following criteria:
  1. Application for Admission
  2. Completed his/her junior year of high school curriculum
  3. Current high school grade point average of 3.0
  4. Recommendation letter from the high school principal
  5. Proof of pre-requisite (see catalog)
Post-baccalaureate Student (not seeking another degree)
  1. Application for Admission

Transient Student (students enrolled at another school and returning to that institution)
  1. Application for Admission
  2. Course Approval Form (from your Registrar's Office)
    - or - official transcript (must have "C" average)
  3. Proof of pre-requisite (see catalog)

International Students
  1. Application for Admission (must be received at least six weeks prior to semester start date)
  2. Certified (official) English translation of your high school transcript
  3. Official TOEFL scores of at least 173 (computer based) or 61 (Internet based) (Obtain TOEFL information from the nearest U.S. Consulate)
  4. ACT or SAT scores
  5. Certified (official) English translation of your college or university transcript
  6. Health form signed by a physician approved by U.S. Consular Authority (proof of immunization against measles, mumps and rubella (MMR))
  7. Proof of financial support for the period of expected attendance
  8. Proof of health insurance coverage
  9. Meet requirements of the institution

Competitive Programs

A completed file for a competitive/selective program may include:
  • Application for Admission

  • Official test scores (varies by program)
  • Official high school transcript or official GED scores
  • Official college transcript from each institution attended
  • Seventh semester grades for high school applicants
  • Prerequisities (see catalog)

Competitive Programs Deadlines
  • Health Information Tech (Medical Records) (Must have completed file by March 1 for priority consideration)
  • Medical Laboratory Technology (Must have completed file by January 31 for priority consideration)
  • Nursing (Must have completed file by December 1 to be considered)
  • Physical Therapist Assistant (Must have completed file by January 31 to be considered)
  • Radiologic Technology/Tech Studies (Must have completed file by January 31 to be considered. Program starts July 1)
  • Respiratory Care (Must have completed file by January 31 to be considered. Program starts July 1)
  • Veterinary Technology (Must have completed file by March 1 for priority consideration)

First Time Freshman Scholarship For you to be considered for our First Time Freshman Scholarship the Office of Admissions must receive your Application for Admission, official ACT or SAT scores and high school transcript by December 15.
